David Ivens found a career in metal work. Business lead him to discoveries in innovation. Currently working out the complexity of large scale mokume gane holloware he is also setting up his new studio to focus on teaching advanced metalforming skills. After 40 years of discoveries in metal work and learning he still finds the medium full of challenges.
David has taken training as a silversmith in the traditional techniques studying in Europe and across North America. He brings insight and innovation from a background in the study of how things were made and finding solutions to manufacturing unique pieces of craft.
